Looking for a hi performance air filters for ZX50
« on: October 21, 2011, 03:28:59 PM »
I am new to scooters and been wanting to put a better air filter on my bike . Do anyone no if they make a hi performance Air filter for a 2003 ZX50 2 stroke ? All I can find is a sponge like filter on the side of the scooter. Do they have one for the Carburetor also ? I have looked all over and cant find any .

I don't know if they do one for the stock carb. I just replaced the carb with a 24mm oko unit and used cone filters.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

If you are looking for one for the stock carb, and your carb has a 28mm intake diameter like mine does there is this K&N filter http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RC-2540.

I put it on mine (along with a Tecnigas Next R exhaust) but so far I haven't seen any improvements in speed. Not worth it if you ask me. YMMV.

If you do go that route (it does look pretty awesome) make sure to rejet.
