I've got LED BAU15S bulbs I want to use to replace my turn signal bulbs.  I took all 6 of the screws out of the taillight assembly the other day - but the assembly won't pull out.  I've got the underseat tub out  because I just wired in magicblinkers - and it looks like I have to take the painted rear body panels off in order to get the taillight assembly out and change the bulbs.  That means I need to remove the backrest, rack, grabrail - and then the bodywork...  Is there an easier way - like loosen a couple of screws and wiggle it?

They want you to remove the front end to replace the front turn signal bulbs - but I managed to reach in and do it without removing anything.  I had to remove it to wire in the magicblinkers though...

FWIW:  The Service Manual shows removing the taillight assembly by just removing it's 6 screws - they leave the bodywork in...  Argh - where's my really big hammer?

Ha!  Remove the 2 screws that hold the license plate light assembly in place and you can grasp it and slide it straight back!  It won't lift out from one side or the other because it needs to slide straight out!

Sticking a suction cup or a piece of duct tape onto it may have been enough - that or just knowing it slides straight out...  Well - hopefully the next person won't get frustrated by it like I did...
