break-in speeds & tire pressures
« on: October 19, 2011, 08:45:39 PM »
Can anyone help me with break in speeds on a new '09 People 150? I've been thru the owners manual, and asked the dealer without any help at all. As it is, I've been running at about 40 miles per (indicated) with occasional bursts up to about 45. How long does this go for? Is it 600 miles or so? Thanks for your responses.

Also, when I took delivery, the salesman told me that although the manual says 40 lbs front and rear, they had only inflated to 35! I looked in manual and found the 26.? front and 28-30.? rear...seems a if the salesman was wrong!!!?!! If only they could interpret the metric system a little better.

But, all things considered, the scooter is an absolute delight, and will be even better with a windscreen installed. I've already installed a Shad 33 litre topcase.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

It sounds like you are doing your break in right.
500 miles should do it, but others swear that they don't need that long of a break-in time.
Make sure your dealer does the scheduled check up.
Your manual is right on the tire pressure.
