There is a steering "limiter" welded to the bottom of the neck tube. The 1970's Yamaha yz125 had a dampener that can be mounted to the bottom of your tree. You will have to drill/tap (2) holes to mount it.

Sounds like an argument for upgrading to a larger shield.  My Burgman 650 had a big Givi and was rock solid leaned over at 70mph on the same roads that make my 500Ri do the Hula dance.  My wife's Burgman 400s which also had a small shield didn't do the Hula - but it never felt rock solid either.  Maybe I need to get with some Austin riders and swap rides for comparisons.  I think I'm the holdout for the stock screen...

Overall, I do believe the weight of the bike has much to do with it.

I've owned 700lb and 300lb motorcycles that could be held leaned over at 100mph.  I think wheel size contributes more than the weight - but the wheels are very similar to my old Burgmans'.  Suspension components come into play - but I don't think the shocks and forks on the Burgman were any better.

I think the biggest factor is something we can't change.  The XCiting (unlike the Burgman 650) moves the engine with the rear wheel.  So the suspension has a harder job to do, and more dramatic changes to the center of gravity when leaned over hard.  The XCiting also has a much lower weight capacity.  The Burgman 400 is built much like the XCiting - but it weighs less.

The XCiting's engine, wheels, and brakes can handle high speed travel - and better suspension components may help - but I think it will never be able to smoothly handle 70mph sweepers or or other road conditions that conventional motorcycles (or a Burgman 650) can handle.   Oh well...

Motorcycle dynamic is not a story of "better" "this" or "that" mechanical component. It is a story of many - 15 to 20 quantitative factors - making up in the end total motorcycle dynamics through corners.

Most important factors when determining maximum leaning angle of the motorcycle are curve leaning angle, radius, speed, then wheelbase, steering axis angle, fork offset and length, and trail (caster).

I believe that those who prefer quantitative and scientific analysis of this topic will benefit much more from studying enclosed Excel calculator of motorcycle leaning angle than reading his or my message that are dealing with 700 lb motorcycle and "better/worse" suspension.

If something can be fully quantified, there is no need for qualitative analysis.

It wouldn't be inaccurate to assume that I couldn't exactly not say that it is or isn't almost partially incorrect.   I'm possibly more or less not definitely rejecting the idea that in no way with any amount of uncertainty that I undeniably do or do not know what he doesn't mean, if that indeed wasn't what he didn't mean.  Even if it wasn't meaning what I knew it was, which of course depends on your point of view.  Soooo - I'm going to just go riding.
