AG 125 or Super8 ?
« on: January 21, 2012, 06:46:41 PM »
I have an Agility 50 now and just took the safety program and got my license. I want to get a scoot just slightly bigger but big enough to ride my wife around the city.Is there much difference between the Super8 150 and the Agility 125 when carrying passengers? I really don't want a real big scoot or I would just get a motorcycle and I prefer the AG 125 if it's big enough for 2 ppl ( me 190lbs..her 130 lbs ). Most time I will be riding solo....what do you guys think?  and thank you for responding  Dale

I can't answer the two up question, but I was recently looking for a scooter and had a look at a Super 8 125, it was a nice scooter and was the quickest of the three that I rode (the other two being a Yamaha Cygnus X which was crap and a SYM VS125). The two points that I didn't like about the Super 8 was no room for feet. It seems to be designed to have your feet tucked together right in front of the seat. The second point was the angle of the seat, always trying to stop yourself from sliding forward, very uncomfortable.
Cheers,
Sid.

I have a super 8 and will agree with you about the lack of foot room.I am still wondering why I didn't notice when test riding it.
I guess buyers should have a check off list so not to overlook those kind of things. No scooter is perfect and probably there are trade offs.
Who would guess that some do not have a oil filter?Who would guess  there would be no repair manual? I must say though, I do like my Sup 8.No regrets thus far!

the agilty 125 is the same body as the 50 but its very strong I thing it would be just fine for 2 people.

I have never noticed a problem with foot room on my s8. And the seat takes some getting used to but I don't even notice anymore. Never tried the passenger foot pegs.

I'm 6-2 and have size 12 feet.  My super 8 has plenty of room for my feet.  I have also put my wife on the back and barely noticed she was back there as there was virtually no impact on the handling.  I couldn't believe how well it handled a passenger.  I have had much bigger bikes that didn't do nearly as well.

Of course, with only 150cc the performance will be affected by the extra weight.

I can't speak for the agility.

I recommend you take your wife to the dealer with you and both of you sit on both scooters and see how you fit.  Better yet see if you can get a test ride.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
