Riding with the Patriot Guard Riders this past Saturday

I'm a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and rode along on an escort for an area soldier KIA in Afghanistan. His body arrived at our airport in Evansville and was taken about 15 miles to a funeral home in neighboring Henderson, KY.

I was the only scooter (GV 250) among 350 or so Harleys and other makes of motorcycles. We had a police escort the whole way & never stopped for a light. People were lining the road waving flags, saluting, taking pics or video and/or crying. It was very moving and the family appreciated it very much. In addition to funerals, they also perform "welcome home's" for soldiers returning from deployment.

If you want to get involved, go to patriotguard.org and see if there's a chapter near you. It's free to join and the PGR performs a great service for our soldiers.

Oops, inflated the number by mistake. :o It was around 250 bikes. One video showed it took about 10 minutes for all the bikes to pass.
