Nice.  I like your transition line better than the original.  I've been thinking of updating mine and considered that line - but I cut it down to this to make it easier to do with reflective tape.  It's cheaper than painting, and I can change it in a year if I get the urge.  Hopefully I'll get past the "thinking" stage.

I'm glad somebody like the transition line, however after i finished i didn't like it, but it has grew on me.

If i could do it again, i would try to start just above the blinkers  so its flush ( I started at the middle of the blinkers)and curve it to the middle of the leg sheild like where these go:

UK xciting 500

TMAX

Xciting 400

However, I'm kinda glad i didn't cause it is different then those. But, I'd still like to see it done. I have an extra leg cowl i may do it to later, but maybe one of you guys can try it first. I think it would look great too.

Also, the under cowl where i painted red, helps with the transition lines with the bike too. It really defines it if you see it in person.

Is it the stock red with black added, and extra parts painted - or a full repaint?

I wonder why Kymco did the color transition just above the 500Ri on the legshield?  Nothing matches it's line or angle.  They could have stayed with one color and moved the transition up to follow the line of the leg shield across the the graphic on the front fender for a nice line.  I know - picky, picky...

Yeah it was stock red.

I painted the side panel (boomerangs) black with triple glaze clear coat, to emulate the new Xcitings.

Then Painted the under cowl flat black (original was matte)and that transition red , the muffler sheild black with triple glaze, and the CVT parts, gloss black.

Then the fairing a gloss black, but I will paint it with the triple glaze later so it emulates the new xcitings too.

Regarding where the 500ri is placed and the beginning of the color, that is the main reason i painted it. It just didn't look right.

And just to let you know if you are considering to do it, don't follow my lineas high as i did. becuase where it bends it bends on the other side, so it has a sword effect look. Again, i would probably end it two to three inches lower. Again,

yeah removed the helmet hook and put an adjustable drink holder. The speakers on there are quite good, and can still be heard at freeway speeds with the short screen well. got it from gooddeals18

How did you do the red band on the wheels? Are the painted on the rims or is it inserts or on the on the tyres?

I always liked that black wheels with the red band look.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

I don't think the new Xcitings with new fairings have anything on ours.  Know what I mean? Especially when the creative ones among us do things like this.  I really like that white with red accents.  I realize that's photoshoped or "Paint"ed.

I want to do it with 3m Scotchlight to add visibility, and because I can heat it up, remove it, and changing the looks of the bike in a few years.  I haven't decided if I want the bright red, burgundy,

or go Polozei (or Urbestfriend) in green.  My daughter is voting for green.

I like the idea of carrying ot over to the fender - but I'd have to paint it because the fender has too many angles.
