Valve adjustment time?

For anyone out here that has adjusted the valves on their own X500. Once you know what you are doing, (have adjusted your valves a few times). How long does it take from start to finish?

I'd take maybe 3 or 4 hours to do it only because I check and recheck clearance over and over till I feel I get it perfect.  Also cause I still use my somewhat inferior tools.  (don't have a proper adjusting wrench or adjuster)  Using the Kymco tools or equivalant, I figure it could be done in 2 to 3 hours.

First time I know I must have spent close to 8 hours. 

Yeah, I've been real busy lately what with totalling my car and shopping for new one.  Capturing and bringing 5 new rescue cats home and getting them situated and starting their domestication.  Still visiting one homeless cat daily 17 miles away and trying to get his trust so I can capture him. 

And of course I still go to dialysis Tue, Thur, Sat.

I have taken in many stray cats in my time also. Had as many as 13 at one time. I have 3 now. People keep dumping them, and I can't turn them away. Shot's-getting them fixed, it all ads up. Sorry to here about your health! I had no idea? Hang in there.

I would not? It should be a cold setting. But saying that, I would not adjust them unless it was at least cool outside, if not warm. I would not adjust them if it were 30 degree's out.

If its hot I don't care how carefull you are, your going to burn yourself? So I have no idea why this guy would be doing so? Oh well!

Many engines require running temp. rocker arm /valve lash adjustments. I was actually surprised to find Kymco's are adjusted cold. The required spec. of .003-.004mm changes to almost zero as the engine warms. Soooo  they (engineers) just built in the heat factor on the cold setting.
