« on: September 23, 2008, 06:16:07 PM »
Hi i have an xciting 500 56 model (not injection) which i quite happy about..maybe better mpg..anyway i had a major oil leak which i had fixed...my bike has only done 3000 miles...i getting 80 to 85mph at the max...mostly tipping over the 80s...my question is ...is this very low ...or is the normal top speed you would get with this bike...i was expecting something in the 90s..or am i living in dream land...

Had mine to 85 mph once and I don't think there was much left. So far the best mpg all hwy has been 56. I,am happy at the speed limit or less.Where was the oil leak?

My '07 X500 was close to topping out at around 90 . . . could have been 90 - could have been 85. It was fast enough.

On the occasional interstate trip, even at 70mph, mine has no problem scooting around the big rigs.

Worst freeway mileage was 45mpg on a trip from San Antonio, TX to New Orleans, LA, when I was mostly going 75, and was loaded with clothes and gear for a wedding.

On the back roads where I average 55 to 60, mileage as much as 65mpg.
