Air Cleaner removal
« on: February 01, 2012, 10:49:15 PM »
I remove the 6 screws on the air cleaner cover but still unable to detach the cover, are there any screw or bolt that I forgot?

Don't want to force it since its all plastic.

I check the service manual it only indicated 6 screws. What am I doing wrong? ???

Air cleaner covers often , in General, seal to the air box, so you have to pry gentlely to remove them.

We haven't gotten to the air filter on my scooter yet.

There is another bolt, not in the manual. I mentioned this in an earlier thread...

I did notice that there's a bolt deep inside. How did you access it?

PS actually I was looking for your thread but search came up nothing. Thanks anyway Mike

I left the bracket on the cover and undid the other end, where the bracket meets the frame (if I remember correctly). Couldn't get at the other end cleanly.

Finally able to remove the air cleaner cover. 6 screws + 1 bolt. Used a tiny 11mm socket wrench. I don't understand what is the function of the bolt since its near one of the screw. Seems to be redundant. ???
