Best exhaust.
« on: February 26, 2012, 05:46:49 PM »
Hey guys, just looking to pick up 5-7 mph. Which exhaust would be best for max hp/speed rating? Thanks!

I believe my scoot is derestricted cuz it will go up to 52mph and rev to 9500rpm. Will this exhaust help that much and does it come with new rollers? I want to be able to do 55 comfortably without being at 10,000rpm(Ideally 7-8,000rpm). Thanks!

..you'll probably need to do some cvt mods for that...longer belt, stiffer contra...

..my tech NEXT pipe came with 7 gram rollers, which won't do you much good...

Thanks again, what is a contra? lol. Understood the belt part. I would rather learn this and do it myself than take it to a scoot shop who will butcher her.

Control spring or torque spring in the clutch. It controls the shift time/duration. For a stock scoot the 1000 is good. Light mods/pipe 1500 is good. Big bore kit/pipe 2000 is good. They don't add any top end mph but you will gain in quickness as they hold the lower gear longer, and "down shift" much faster.

The EASIEST mod for 5-7mph gain is the variator. Malossi is a great choice for an all around var. http://www.spi-parts.com/  This shop has the best price, and 10% off if you mention the Zuma/Kymco forums.
Maybe I can get him to mention Max Marine Restoration, and Repair...(that's me.)

..I put a technigas pipe on my 04 s9...wound up having to try the 7 gram rollers..

..i was running the oem 8.5 with oem pipe, and loving them!..

..currently running 6gram ninja sliders, and this afternoon imma put in some 5.5 sliders...

..rpms are 8000 with the 6g, but will drop out of powerband uphill..think the 5.5s will do very nicely..

 :o

..i'm learning about tuning to a pipe...my first time...
