It wont be necessary as the iridium has a hotter spark to burn more completely. The hotter plug MAY create detonation from the excess heat in the insulator.

Another plug question.  Several reviews of the NGK say "Did not come with the tip that screws on to the top of the plug. useless with out it." and "The plug comes with a threaded end and I needed a terminal cap to use it with my scooter - that was hard to find - parts store guy stole one off another plug and gave it to me - I suggest (the manufacturer) putting one on the plug and letting us (the consumer) take it off if we don't need it, instead of making us search for one if we do."

Having never changed a scooter plug before, I have no idea what the reviewers are talking about.  Does the NGK (7544) CR7HIX Iridium IX Spark Plug come with everything I need?

The little screw on nipple does come with the plug. Yours was simply missing. All plugs use one, and some are now molded on, and do NOT remove.
The new iridium will have one.
