Hardware store 3 bucks...
Your getting seals at the hardware??

YUP! On the side of the seal there are 3 numbers. One is the ID of the seal, One is the OD of the seal, and the last is the width of the seal.
I get ALL my seal at Jackson hardware in town. They are an Ace Hardware chain. Most auto parts/small engine shops will stock them as well. Kymco is around 15 bucks per seal. Local is 3.

You will be able to feel bad bearings if you remove the plug, and stator. Any play or grit will be transmitted to the shaft as you spin it.

Dam, i done forgot where i got the last zx seals....probably scootercraft... I miss those guys. :'(

From MY lil searching.... It seems that kymco pretty much uses the same seal.. the s9, zx, etc., anyway... when i looked, they all have the same part #.

The three numbers are on the side of the seal. They are spaced apart to look random but that is them.

OH, i knew that part

How do you think i was looking to replace my torn seal last time and found the s9 has the same seals...

Well, i went out and cleaned that carb again, bowl was dirty..
Re-adjusted float, cleaned carb.........still dies out....
Wont rev past 6g's.. it wanted to one time though. :D
(sat it one a board, stood beside it, burnt fkn rubber...wtf?)

Removed plug and it's wet as hell and lean looking.
no mix ring but the stem has a touch of color.. dam, it's a oem carb..
I know just a pipe cant make it that dam lean looking.(oem carb, oem airbox, just pipe.next-r)

Tried a comp test but i guess my sh**ty tester took a crap, wouldn't even register...
YES, i put the plug back in.....fired right up. it's got Some comp anyway ;D

Gonna try a leak down test after it's all apart with my $5 tester

Seals appear to be good to go..........
The only leak i can find is in the "butt plug" style  ::) plug in the exhaust..
Which goes back to all carb issues........
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO close guys, so fkn close  >:(

Just learned that a oem a.c exhaust will NOT fit a l.c bike.....
figured for sh**'s and giggles i'd try an oem exhaust but the dam thing won't mount..
The swing arm stops it.. with some mods it would fit but i'm not cutting either

What are you using to block off the exhaust?  An expansion plug?  Is there any way to get it to seal completely?  Are you removing the pipe or plugging the end of it?  To get an accurate reading you have to eliminate ALL leaks and it needs to 6 psi pressure for 6 minutes.  Only other thing I can think of as far as leaks is that the crank bearings are bad and at higher rpms the shaft begins to wobble in the crank seals causing a leak.  ???  Do you have a timing light?  You can hook it up and make sure your spark isn't cutting out at high rpms when it cuts out.

...>>perk<<...

should there be any movement in the engines output shaft...in or out...up or down..??
..every mod (action) necessitates a (reaction) mod..

NONE! On the tranny output a small amount of in out is normal 1/16th" or less. Up or down is worn bearings/case

Hey Batts... Did you use carb clean to blow out the passages inside the carb body? Maybe the cap is leaking air? Clogged/de laminated fuel line?
