Just loving the Yager!
« on: April 07, 2012, 10:32:15 PM »
It has been 18 days since I've bought the scooter brand new. I've placed 1,003 miles on it already. Not really any joy riding miles at all. Strictly errands and work commuting. In 18 days, I've saved over $92.00 in gas. Average MPG during this time is 77.5mpg.
I've saved more money considering my wife went from using our mini van (18mpg) to using the sedan I used to use for commuting (27mpg); but I'm too lazy and lack too much information to figure that out! :)

I never thought I would enjoy a scooter. Work on the weekends were looked at as a P.I.A.! Now I look forward to it because I can ride the Yager the 2-hour round trip.

I've owned other bikes - Harley, Boulevard, etc. Besides gas mileage, the Yager's suspension feels superior to anything I've ridden before. As well, the seat comfort is light years ahead of my old Harley, and is steps ahead from the comfort of my Boulevard. I find that I'm enjoying rides more now. I can pay attention to the road, relax, and peak at the snow-capped mountains as I'm running through some twisties.

Truthfully, this is the type of riding that I always wanted. So how did I get to this point? I went through several motorcycles trying to find that perfect ride. I'd buy one and ride it for a bit, and then it would collect dust.

Little did I know that this little 175cc Yager is what I've been looking for all along.

It's a wonderful thing to finally be able to ride and enjoy the experience like you always imagined. Just goes to show that sometimes we need to think outside the box, and the stereotypical norms of our areas.

Did you notice the diff after it was broken in?  At about 1100 miles it got even better, quicker of the go.
I just love my Yager.

I definitely notice a "smoothness" that I didn't have before. Acceleration certainly seems more effortless. I began to notice this yesterday on my way home.

Holy crap == 1000 miles in under a month! I'm at 19 months of riding with about 8,000! Great to hear you're loving the Yager. It's my first bike ever,
but it feels good that I made a good choice.

Enjoy the riding!

PassedBy.......the Yager is a pretty amazing scooter.  Tremendous milelage considering the performance.  And as far as the ride....magic carpet all the way.  Really cool dash also.

I did my first oil/filter change/screen cleaning change yesterday (dealer did the breakin service) and it was really simple, nothing to be worried about.  Next weekend I'll do the valve adjustment and trans oil.  2,000+ miles so far.  An excellent buy!  Looking forward to summer riding.....

Before the Yager, I was riding a 2007 Honda Spirit 750.  I knew better than to say to people that I had a 750 because it got better gas mileage than a 1300.

With the yager, it's the opposite.  The first thing I talk about is the 80 MPG then I boast about how fast it will go and how much crap it will carry and all of the other stuff.

When I riding the Yager in 45 and 35 MPH zones like I did with the 750, I think to myself, the 750 wasn't any faster at 45 or 50 than the Yager is at 45 or 50.  Ha ha.

It's out of the box thinking alright.
I did it and I'm glad.

I have to stand on the box just to see the stage.
I did it and I'm glad.

HOORAY for you and us! My Yager has over 10000 miles on it and consistently gets over 90 mpg, is a smooth, quiet ride and reliable. The "honey-do's" to the store are gleefully made. Trips together are great (she has a Buddy 150). Yager is better than my previous three motor cycles which included a BSA 650. Keep on ridin'!

Find the thread "Yager got 90 mpg" by InfernoST. That will give you an idea how long it will take to break in and get truly great mileage!
