Where's the horn at?
« on: April 24, 2012, 03:29:26 PM »
Yeah, I can hear where it's beepin' from, but I was wondering where exactly it's
located, and how much work in removing plastics is needed (and which panels exactly)?

I've got a Stebel TM80 horn waiting for a while now..

Ha, good luck with that... Scooter that comes with a good horn, Riiigght!

Try Piaggio, to put in a new horn I had to remove the topcase rack, tail lights, seat, all the rear tuperware, glove box and leg shield and finally the floor board. In their ultimate wisdom the horn is mounted under the floor board, and because of how the pannels are interconnected you have to remove all that first to get to the screws and clips holding in in. The only thing that did not have to come off was the front fender and front shield/headlight assembly.... Oh and I left the motor and storage bucket inplace...

But I do have an excellent Steble Air Horn now and an intimate knowledge of how she's put together...

After you take the tupperwear off. (It will take about 10-15 min) The FIAMM 72112 Freeway Blaster Horn fits in the factory horn bracket just fine except it needs to be mounted backwards , the stud need to face towards the front of the scoot. The spade connectors fit the FIAMM just fine.
No need for a relay. This thing goes for about 10 bucks on Amazon . Its rated at 120db. It made my wife jump 2 feet in the air the first time I sounded it in the garage.
