I hope that's true for all Kymco models, the Km I mean, as standard on the odo, and as Baddi said "as a service to you guys, written mph on the speedo too"

well im not entirely sure if it is miles or kilometers. but i thought it was miles because i did use it to see how far the journey was to work. i know from signs it says "watton 8 miles" and the odometer says the same by the time i get to work, i will have a look on my next journey to make sure. i have had the bike afew years now.

Its KM on my UK a50 it goes with the main speedo markings which are in Km/h, the mph markings on the speedo are secondary markings for us who dont like to modernise to km. I prefer mph anyday, it makes more sense to me, i can imagine a distance in miles but when someone says km's or km/h i need to use a convertor to work out how far or how fast they mean in REAL measurements of miles and mph  ;)

And then there are us, who are used to the "modern" measurements (which is not only modern, but is what all of our physics and understanding of the world are based on), and will have to use a converter to use miles and miles per hour. :p

Yeah but i still like vinyl L.P's instead of mp3's, proper books and newspapers instead of e-papers and e-books and F.M radio over DAB  ;D

Miles where there before KM, ALL our road signs are in miles, ALL our speed signs are in MPH so i'll stick with them.

Why change something if it works?

Of course you do. MP3's would take 8 times as much space, if they were the same quality as L.P's. Also, CD's cant have as much tracks on it, if they were L.P quality, and since most MP3's are ripped from CD's, the only way to get L.P quality music is directly from the producer. :D
Also, only the very best (and very expensive) e-papers and e-books will give the same result in light as a normal book in a properly lighted room, and for this reason, close to none of us have seen e-papers or e-books as good as the normal kind.

So why change it if it works, you say? Because its cheaper to manufacture, saves resources, and are easier to destribute, which will end up distributing mediocre things to everybody, and the mediocre will be improved, and then we, as a kulture and race has evolved. :)

And btw, km and miles was on the same time, along with a thousand other measurements, according on which village you went to. When most villages were united by roads and trading routes, some kind of standart was necerssary. Some places, this standart ended up as km and some places as miles. As time goes by, the standarts had to change from national to international standarts, and here came the S.I. (Standart Index) which is all the global standarts linked together by the measurement of force, Newton. :D

I'm sorry for the history lesson, but i hope to have illuminated your minds. :)

How do you type applause! Every time I try I come out with the sound of one hand clapping!

clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap to baddi!!!!

Thank you very much. But I still would prefer oil on canvass on my walls instead of a f*c"n computer print-out or lcd frame, prefer ribs smoked on hickory (aaah... love charcoal!) rather than radiowaves from the microwave oven, love my Rolex than the digital Casio, love my 5 speed manual tranny than my tiptronic, love the decade old GY6 than the new MY1016 electric scooter motor,  and the list goes on....
