Crankcase Breather

I just did the 600 mile maintenance on my scoot and while I have the service manual, I couldn't find where the crankcase breather is or what it even looks like.  Did I just gloss over it while going through the manual?

Any help would be appreciated.

It's also known as a PCV (positve crankcase ventilation).  It may be called as such in the manual.  It is a hose that comes off of the valve cover.

 ??? If it the same as a dt 300i there is a short tube to the air filter case, and if you over fill the tranny it will flow into the filter, I found that out,  !!!

Ahh...yes, some have a breather out of the final reduction drive as well.  I've seen some where the reduction drive just has a hose that wraps over the cvt case and points down behind the wheel also....some just have a vent hole.  The PCV will be a hose running from a nipple off of the valve cover...it is a one way valve that releases "positive" pressure from the engine crankcase as the engine oil heats up.  It usually connects to a charcoal canister and then too the airbox...If I remember correctly?!  I do mainly 2T's so I try not to deal with that stuff much.  ;)

Trivia:   The EPA found bad stuff in that blowby gas and mandated that the engines must suck up that stuff and burn it to render it harmful in some other way. In came the PCV which stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation, named after the then head of the EPA.. Mr. Pierre Positive.
