Becoming a Scooter Mechanic [SOLVED]

Hey yall,

I have previously owned a scooter and now own a second bike: Kymco Agility 125cc. At this rate, I think I might be a scooter for life lol. I am thinking of learning how to fix scooters as a personal gain and who knows maybe open up a shop one day in the Islands when I retire . At this stage, I'm not interested in doing it as a career since I'm fixed on something else. Do you reckon its worth the long run? I don't really mind learning since I'm skilled in the mechanical area e.g. engineering. Or do you reckon, its better to pay the mechanic and have them service/fix your scooter?

Has anyone thought a similar idea or actually experience this?

Lets see...if you ride a scooter then you are an scootee ?  or scootist ?     and if you ride a goat, you are a goatee ?

Anyway,  Yes, learn to be a scooter repair person and then fix all of our broken scooters.

But, learn only if you are interested!

MK DH knows enough about motorcycle repair that he can make decisions
 as to what he want to fix and what he wants to pay someone else to do the repair.
Makes life a lot easier... and the Honda shop appreciates his business because he can tell them what specific work he wants done,
rather than the usual vague statement ... " My cycle doesn't work right"

Since you have a career, you can pick up some more skills and have a hobby when you retire (My DH fixes old sewing machines).

Excellent! Thanks guys, it gives me the confidence to learn now . Correcting, that makes me a scootee/scootist for life lol. Cool bananas, a side hobby is what I had in mind. Now the fun part is searching for the right institute to learn? Nevertheless, this is a good start and I feel a new chapter of my life about to unfold..woohoo
