Is this tuning good?
« on: June 07, 2012, 04:44:43 PM »
Hey guys, just bought a Kymco Agility 50 4T 2008.
Just bought some tuning for it, I dont know if its balanced tuning..
I feel that Im gona get insane acceleration..
Anyway, here is what i bought:

1 x   38mm VARIATOR DRIVE BOSS / BUSH #1526   Â£10.00
1 x   MAIN JET 4mm for SYM HONDA BAOTIAN and CHINESE 50cc #82   Â£2.90
1 x   RACE VARIATOR by BLACK WINGS RACING #1741   Â£29.00
1 x   16x13mm 6 Gramme roller weights #1903   Â£6.80
1 x   2000 RPM Race Clutch Springs #1711   Â£4.50

By the way my CDI is fixed..

So, is the tuning any good?
How will my scooter end up being like?

Thanks in advance!

The main jet is M5/5mm not 4mm so you will have to change that.

6g rollers are too heavy for my 2008 A50, i used 5.5g for ages but just fitted some 5.1g's a few weeks ago and i prefer them now.

Clutch springs are good, i use 1500rpm but prob will get 2000 next time.

Boss and variator should be fine.

You prob want to upgrade the torque/contra spring in the rear pulley when your in there doing the clutch springs too. A 1000rpm is ok, i currently use a 1500rpm one tho, i prefer that.

You wont get insane acceleration tho  :D Not on an A50 lol. Should help a lot tho and make it more responsive, better uphills, better acceleration and probably a few mph topend if your lucky.

Heres my setup,

Race variator
5.1g rollers
shaved, smooth boss (36.8mm instead of 38mm)
cut cdi
1500rpm clutch springs
1500rpm torque spring
82 main jet

Gets me 42mph all day, 43-45mph on flats, 30-40mph uphill, 52mph best speed downhill........so far  :)
Chaos is my co-pilot.

I thought the 4mm was for 50cc.. ?
And 5mm for 125cc etc..

You sure about that?

...streido is right about the jets.....

..i don't imagine you will like that 2000 contra...the 4t doesn't generate enough horspower to benefit from it...

...streido is also right about the roller weights, i run 4.7 grams in my best running a50...

..you will benefit from some stiffer clutch "fly" springs as well, so spring for some of them!!

..be very careful of spending little cash for upgrade parts, they are of inferior quality and subject to fail or wear prematurely..

Hes got the 2000 fly springs i think, NOT a 2000 contra. Least thats how i read it  ??? Dont think he mentioned the contra/torque spring in his parts ???

If im wrong and its a 2000rpm contra spring you meant Paali, then like Word said its useless for an A50, too stiff.

Def 5mm on the jets. You want ones for a keihin carb, loads on ebay or most scoot shops, just search for " 5mm keihlin 82 main jet" .

You didnt order from Taipai Scooter Asassins did you? That sounds like one of their mistakes with the jets, they assured me i needed a 4mm but after waiting 2-3wks for delivery i found it was the wrong size when it arrived. Think other 50cc chinese scoots have different carbs with a 4mm jet, kymco a50 is 5mm tho.

I dont know what the 2000 contra is, but here are the springs I ordered:
http://www.exportstrength.com/product_info.php?products_id=58

And yes I ordered from Scooter Assassins, shouldnt I?

And one more thing, the main jet I ordered was size 85..
Is it very important that its 82?

Yeah those are ok. Thats clutch fly springs, 2000rpm is fine.

Contra spring helps gearing in the rear pulley. http://www.exportstrength.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_44_332&products_id=609

Scooter Assassins are what they are, i rarely use them now due to delivery times. A lot of their parts are not as good quality as brand name parts, hence the cheaper prices. I had fly springs in the past from there and they worked but were not to best of quality. Some parts are ok but some i would avoid, thats maybe just my personal view.

85 jet is too large, you really need an 82.

85 wl work but you will prob run rich and lose some performance from what you would have with a 82.

Depends where you are in the world?

Im in Scotland and have used Adrenalin pedstop, SIP, BSL performance, beedspeed, and even my Kymco dealer at times if im desperate.

I hate the wait from Taipai.

..yup, i misread that...still...in my experience, the 2000 flys will also be too stiff....

..tried'm a cpl different times..caused the engine to rev too high, and even with heavier rollers..

..aaannd with the heavier rollers it too to tame the 2000s, i lost all top end hill pulling ability...

Hmmm didnt know that. Guess i wont be trying them then.

I got a set that inc 1000, 1500 & 2000 springs ages ago, actually from Taipai, but never tried the 2000 ones since one of them seemed to stretch out a little when fitting. I contacted Scooter Assassins to complain about lack of quality in them and was fobbed off with lame excuses, have'nt ordered from there since  :-\

Try 1500 rpm fly springs then Paali, maybe with a 1000 or 1500 torque/contra spring.

This is the jet you want, i used this place for a few parts now and theyre helpfull and quick to deliver parts, 1-2 days normally, dont think they deliver outside tbe UK but you could ask, lets you see what you want anyway http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kymco-Agility-50cc-Keihin-M5-Main-Jet-Size-82-/280862280112?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4164b249b0
