2013 Super 8 150 has worn valve
« on: February 25, 2014, 05:43:06 PM »
Hello, I'm new and wanted to ask if anyone experienced this. I recently bought the scooter and took it to the dealer where I bought it from for the scheduled 200 mile service, which includes a valve adjustment. They're telling me they noticed that the valve is worn and needs to be replaced. They're surprised of this with the mileage being so low.

Has anyone experienced this?

Sounds like BS to me.

I'm assuming your Super 8 is new because you said you took it in for your first 200 mile service and it's hard for me to believe that a valve is already worm out but I'm not saying it couldn't happen.

I do know that dealers get reimbursed for warranty repair and now imagine how a dealer could make easy money for fixing something that wasn't broken in the first place.

well this sounds like a dealer tricky way to earn some moneys , based on facts for sure
i got my super 8 50cc 4t with 3900 km / 2400 mile
drove 2 years without checking out for valve clearance
now that it has done 10.000 km / 6.200 mile
checked out for valve clearance and what ? didn't need even a little bit to adjust was 004 inch / 10 mm

The dealer didn't say which valve it was, and I didn't see the worn valve before they replaced it. They were baffled on what caused it. Anyway, the scooter runs great.
