No Computer Issues Reported for DT 300
« on: July 16, 2012, 02:54:32 PM »
I posted the following on the Downtown 300 Forum:

"Two members of the People 300i have posted complaints concerning the computer on their bikes. The complaints are quoted below:

'…had problems with running, wouldn't go over 75 mph and gas mileage was low 60-65. twice at dealer to replace cdi-computer. of course no codes so no replacement.'

Another member posted:

'The engine would turn over, but not start. On further examination, we noticed that the sound of the fuel pump spooling up was no longer audible. After conferring with the Kymco regional people, they concluded that the ECU was bad.'

Since I believe that the engines are the same on both the DT 300 and the People 300 I assume the computers would be the same. Have there been any faulty computer issues with the DT 300? There are a lot more of them than People 300s – so it might just be a case of bad luck.

Thanks in advance."

The responses indicated no issues with computers.  Since that bike has been around longer it gives me confidence.

Ailixhomes - I've not experienced any problems with my GT 300i.  I was describing some problems about which two other members had complained.  The reason I posted in the DT 300i forum was that the DT 300i  bike - with I believe the same engine - has been around longer - and there are more of them out there - and there does not seem to be a problem with the DT 300i.  I concluded that there should not be a problem generally with the GT 300i.

What problem are you experiencing?
