Starting Question

My question is about carburetors vs fuel injection starting:   I have owned five scooters and all of them were fuel injected. 

Currently, I am thinking of buying a scooter with a carburetor.    Maybe something like a Grand Vista 250 or a People S 250 - both of which have carbs.

Do the carburetor equipped scooters start right up and can they be ridden off immediately like the type with FI ?  Does the rider have to "fiddle" with the choke or enricher lever?

In years past I've owned more than 15 motorcycles and all of them had carbs.  All of them required the choke/enricher lever to be pulled back to some degree or another and then you hit the starter button and let it warm up for a few minutes before starting the ride.   Some of them ran cold blooded for another few minutes.

Is it the same situation with the carb equipped scooters like the G.V. or S 250 ?

most of carb'd scoots have an auto choke, so you can just fire her up and you wont need to worry about choke levers and such.

The carburetor works fine ca. +/- 20°C around the temperature where it was adjusted. During cold winter mornings it may take up to a minute before it readily responses to the throttle.
I've had the GV250 and currently ride his successor X500 (the old carbureted). No unusual problems.

But the electronic controlled FI does always provide optimal mixture.
