New X500 to hit American dealers soon!
« on: October 21, 2012, 03:23:09 PM »
Yesterday I saw a full page ad in the American motorcycle magazine Road Runner or Road something like that, that had an ad with a picture of the new X500. It has the dual head lights on it. The ad stated that it had under seat storage for 2 helmets, bosch fuel injection, up-graded rear suspention, up-graded brakes and so on. So it looks like it is finally comming to the USA? I wonder why the dealers or Kymco USA does not tell anyone of this untill it hit's the show room floors?  ??? :-*

Sissy,
They probably don't know or care. The goal is to sell what's on the show room floor and not entertain potential buyers with the idea that their purchase will be "last years technology". I asked a dealer a couple of weeks ago about the 700i and he didn't even know Kymco made one. I also have to realize that my dealer is also the biggest Suzuki and Kawaski dealer in the area so keeping up with Kymco scooters is not in their foodchain. So I share your frustration.

Yes I see your point! Also I would think that if someone was looking at large maxi scoots, and new that Kymco will soon have a new and improved bike, that some people may wait and buy it rather than buy a burgman, Silver wing etc. So if they don't know about it, they may buy from the big 4 and for go the X500? It should sell well if they keep the price down. I can not believe how much the big 4 are asking for their large scoots?  :-*

Considering this summer they were fire selling the 2010's at awesome prices I would think they just don't want to have to do that for newer bikes.  I love my 2010 x500 I got in june.

My dealer (Kymco and Genuine) can't wait to get their hands on the 700s.  I think they're thinking I'll be the 1st customer for it.  Honestly, if the new 500 is as big an improvement as they say it is, I would probably go that route.

Besides, I just don't like the front looks of the 700.

For now, with 12000 miles on it, my 2012 Xciting ri (abs) is perfect.

I know it has more storage under the seat, and has dual head lights, improved rear shocks, breaks etc, but has the engine been up-dated other than the Bosch fuel ingection? To me if the engine is still the same, I will stick with my 2007. Why buy a new bike for a little more storage and an extra light? :-*

Hi Sissy.  Why indeed?  Sounds like your bike is still good to you...
