There are regular posts from Vespa owners who complain about the ugly side reflectors on their Vespa.
Usually it is the owners of relatively newer models - say within the past 5 or 6 years.
Some remove them and then fret about the pair of holes left in the bodywork. There are posts on how to deal with these holes.
They complain that these reflectors serve no purpose - "especially if you never ride at night"!
Some remove the mirrors - again for appearance reasons. So many do this that there is now a supplier for the body-color buttons to plug the unsightly holes left in the scooter.
I was not surprised to read that some owners actually remove the turn-signals - again, for appearance reasons!
Oh, and therapy is needed - should one discover a slight discoloration in a small area of paint in the matte finishes!
Imagine the distress when one gets bumped over while parked in the city! The dented body-work is sometimes be declared totaled by the ins. co.
The rest of us are riding cheap, probably Chinese, junk, made of plastic.
If/when this gets reported to the Vespa forum I will be struck from their Secret Santa list.
