Found a Place to order GIVI Rack!
« on: October 11, 2012, 07:36:41 PM »
The rack for the Yager is unique. Stock rack only holds 10 pounds! (A top
box might be too much!). Here is a place to buy the SR90 GIVI rack which
has supports so it can hold more weight;

http://www.racingplanetusa.com/case-givi-monolock-scooter-trunk-mounting-kymco-yager-2007-p-25703-1.html?cPath=2_17636_17652&sessID=0c1d95b84369f638021c8445c82abc39

Around $90 with shipping, Comes from europe so might take a week to get...

The Givi rack is the first thing I ordered for my Yager.  Easy Installation and holds a medium sized Givi case easily.  Not cheap, but nice quality with the silver/grey Givi color pretty close to matching the Yager's color.  After a year and a half, I'm enjoying all the storage space on this scoot!

I always put a top box on my bikes. Makes them tons more useful!

The box I have is an old JC Whitney, I hope it's not too big for the little
scooter!

For info, I put a Givi Monokey 45L top box on a SHAD rear rack (found easily in the US).
So far.... No problem

22"L x 16.3"W x 12"D Hmm that's close to the JC Whitney box I have. Do you have a picture
so I can see how it looks?

I get my Yager today! I'm getting excited!

Not sure it's the best looking topbox for the Yager but I had it before I got the Yager.

Well it's not too bad. Most have the backrest built in so would snug up closer to the seat.
A lot of new bikes come to a point in back and the top box just floats out in space.

I wonder if you removed the grab rail/backrest thing and moved if forward if it would look better?

I'll have to try that when my rack comes in. Thanks for the picture!

Using a Givi plate on a SHAD rack, that's the closest I could get the box to the backrest.
If it were a SHAD box, I could probably move it forward by 1/2 inch max... not more.

Removing the backrest is a possibility but I prefer keeping it on since I ride sometimes without the case.
One thing I did to compensate with the weight in the back is to add some very heavy handlebar ends.
It helped a lot with balance and vibrations.

Ahh yes I see the weights. Good idea, to keep the headshake down.

Well I ordered the Givi rack and have JC Whitney box so I'm going to have to make those work.
They said 6 weeks to ship the rack from Italy, so I'm going to have to wait too!

No, the Yager one is unique to that model and I guess it wasn't that popular.
So now that it is discontinued nobody stocks anything for it. I was glad to be able
to order it online instead of finding a Givi dealer and trying to get them to order
the right thing.

Now if I could just order a Boindi windshield for it online....

PS I got an email today it's in the mail so only 1 week not too bad.

Looks great!!
The case reminds me of the Bestem 929... that is basically a Givi.
The rack seems pretty sturdy.

It's a JC Whitney I got a number of years ago. The Givi's are nice but this one
only cost $85! It is just right for commuting, a little bigger wouldn't hurt. It doesn't
look too bad on the little scoot. Got to have a place to stow stuff that you pick up
on the way or to stash your helmet and coat when you get there.
