Pictures of windshields?
« on: October 11, 2012, 07:48:46 PM »
The Givi looks too big;

The Puig is shaped funny;

I'd like something shaped like this, just a semi rounded shield shape;

I did see this on a German site they called it a Polo, not sure where you can buy it?

Anyone have pictures of your windshield?

I am also looking into a bigger windscreen.
As far as I know, the only one that doesn't require to screw supports in the dashboard is the Puig.
I wonder if a store in the US is carrying it ... beside Kymco's dealers.

Who makes the one on the last photo? Polo?

Well it's a german site so the translation wasn't too good. It's either the Puig
for the 125 Yager or a Polo. I couldn't find a Polo listed and haven't found the
Puig or Kymco one on a site with a price that you can purchase it from.

I see some other bikes in European catalogs with shapes that might allow you
to use their windshields on the Yager GT but it would be trial and error.

I get my Yager today so was researching for what was available as I'm a
bit of a "weather weeny" but don't like to stop riding when it's a bit cold or
rainy.

I think the wavy windshields will produce turbulance...

Here's the stock windshield for comparison;

On my first ride I found it fine up to 50 MPH but later in that same ride it felt like a lot of air
was pushing on my arms and head (a little uncomfortable). I'll have to ride it a bit more to
decide if I really need a different one.

My dealer didn't have the PUIG stocker and couldn't find a number to order it. I'll have to print
the info from Kymco's web site and show them I guess...

I agree.... the stock windshield is useless above 40mph.
Because of the location of the mirrors on the Yager, any windscreen will have a wavy shape.
I think that the Puig (YAGER TOURING WINDSHIELD  Part#  YGFPCT) is a perfect compromise (size wise and hand protection).
Being in NorCal, cold temperatures are not really a problem for me but I could use a bigger screen for highway rides.
Let us know what you find/get Randy.

Btw, congrats on your new Yager!  :-)

Thanks, I love it so far!

Here's a picture of the Biondi. I found it on an Italian site. I might go for this one.
Looks like $85. Not sure if they ship to USA.;

Here's a french Fabbri. Looks a little too big...

I had a Biondi on a Yamaha Majesty and the quality was top notch.
Not sure why but my favorite is still the Puig. If only a store would carry it here....
I guess I will have to contact a Kymco dealer.

Let us know what you decided to go with and share some photos when it's on :-)

I tried a second dealer and he can't seem to get the factory windshield either!

They show it on their web site but it's not in the order system. Maybe because the
Yager is discontinued here next year?

He's going to call them and see what they say. Good luck! I tried emailing and the
email came back as undeliverable.

Well I went back to my main dealer and he called and they told him $170 but out of
stock until November for the Kymco touring screen.

I have heard of failures on the Givi on other Kymco's due to the large screen and they didn't
use additional bracing. They've taken to putting foam on the dash for support. So I think a
shield with bracing would be better.

  I wonder why Givi uses such big shields? I had on on my bike and had to look through it. It's
a hassle cutting it down...

$170 for the Kymco/Puig screen? Wow... that's expensive!
Givi are usually pretty good screens.
If I get one of those two, I will post here with pictures.
