Spyder Web

It's been a long wait. I don't know if any of you remember a thread I started over a month ago talking about my dilemma over choices to continue to ride. I had a severe wreck when a deer ran out in front of me on a Sept. night. I ended up with 5 broken ribs, torn cartilage in the right knee and broken bone in the right foot. I was blessed. I was wearing all my protective gear and that's what saved my life. Well my wife broke out with shingles the next morning due to the anguish this caused her. We came to an agreement later about my continued riding. Either give up the Xciting 500 or convert it to a trike, or get a Can Am Spyder. I finally got my scooter back from the dealer after a 3 month wait for parts and traded it in Sat for a Spyder RS. I have really enjoyed being a part of this forum and a Kymco owner. Their products are flawless but the support for parts sucks. I'm going to linger around and enjoy Vivo and hopefully Zombie will rise from the undead. Best of luck, hug your children and grandchildren dearly and have a joyeous holiday.
Mike, (ROLL TIDE!)

Vivo my friend,
I've never met you or talked to you except on line and I have no idea what you look like but there has always been a serene persona about you and your posts. I don't believe I've ever read you talk about ypur faith and have no idea what your religion or spiritual higher power is and don't want to know. What always comes through some where in your message is an inner peace,
except... when you've talked about your affinity for rum. We all have our demons and I feel that when alcohol begins to cause you problems you will find a way to stop. But you sound like a good man, a good husband, a good father, and a good provider. You are the type of person that I like to call a friend. My wife's Australian and who knows maybe one day on a trip over we can schedule a stop in Manila and visit. In the meantime stay safe and remember my friend... ATGATT !!

I'm personally offended that you didn't mention me by name, my ego is so shallow I think it's all about me all the time and you should know that.

Was I thinking out loud again, oh well. I hope you stick with the forum and add commentary as you see fit, we can all learn from one anothers exp. behind the bars, plus some of us would love to know about the ride of the Spyder.

PS How's your wife's shingles, my Mom had them last yr and she said they are the worst pain she's ever had including child birth.

Ride on my friend, ride on!

Mike, my good friend, I'm just your everyday gentleman brought up by good parents and was educated in a good school with very good teachers and mentors.  I have my own definition of faith and a strong believer in positive attitudes... failure is just a denial of success....

About the rum, it makes me calm and sleep deep.... that's all... ;)   A side trip to Manila? Wow mike, that will be great! I'll buy the rum!  ;D ;D ;D

08,
I think at times your quizzical mind has kept this forum alive. Remember the "stop button" and other highly phylosophical querries into scoots that only you had the courage to put out there and ask? And when people confronted you, you stood your ground. Now if I wrote a special message to all the guys on this forum I would be here late into the night. I hope you uncover the abrupt loss of and mystery of the Zombie or maybe something else that is really important like why does Streido like to expose his nads on his avatar? Anyway I admire the way you dealt with adversity during Hurricane Sandy and kept your sense of humor. I will still lurk the forum and I will really, really miss my Xciting 500Ri. It was a big powerfull beast that never failed to start or stop for that matter. Who knows, I might get bored with the Can Am roadster and buy another Kymco, but only if they can ship a common part in less than 90 days.

08,
Thanks for asking. She's much better. They have cleared on the back but she still has occasional pain around her abdomen. They must not be bothering her too much though; she runs a 5K just about every Sat. morning and plays tennis almost every day. I hope your beautiful wife and kids have a wonderful Christmas and New Years. You know what now that I think about it I remember reading in one of your posts that you ride your scoot back and forth to work, and I thought my wife was tough.

You'll be missed Mike.  Not sure how I would like 3 wheels but it has to be better than 4.  It sounds like you have a good women, have fun.

Glad you are going to stick around and be a lurker on the forum, Mike.  Please let us know how the Spyder rides, I would like to hear your opinion.  Being a happily married man, I understand your decision...I didn't start riding again until my children were grown and out of the house..an agreement I made with my wife..and I never minded.  As they say Happy Wife, Happy Life.
