Cowls - Older and Newer Style - Interchangeable?

When ordering the wind deflector for my 2012 single headlight bike I noticed that the part # for the 2012 was the same as for the 2013 dual-headlight.  I did a quick visual comparison of both bikes and wonder if the differences are a new cowl, new electrics and some side trim.  If Kymco is keeping the same frame - perhaps they are interchangeable?  It's cold and raining outside so I have time to ponder such things.

It looks to me as if the only changes were rear shocks, brake rotors, and a change to a 2 head light system and plastic front piece? Not much more?

It would be nice to convert to 2 head lights! I wonder if Kymco USA would tell you if you could change over to the new parts to do so? They may not want you to do it as they would want a new sale on a 2013 model?

Comparing an exploded parts manual for both might answer that.  You'd have to a little wiring on the headlights.
