working on my scoot...............
« on: January 23, 2013, 11:46:10 PM »
Ok the last few days the scoot was starting hard and one day after work I had to have a friend come give me a jump start with his truck battery. Made it home and the next day I put in a fresh plug. it has a good spark got it to turn over a few times to let it run. But after I turn it off it wont turn over again.
its been siting for a few days. took the air filter off and cleaned it up. stell wont start. took the plug out a few times after it did turn over and the plug is black. so whats going on with my scoot.the battery has good charge. I did add dry gas to the gas a few times but just a small amount.

Seems to be a bad time of year for Agilitys.

I don't know loads yet, still learning from the people on here, but have you checked all is well with your carb and jets.

Well if it starts with a jump but not by itself that points to the battery.
I have had cars that were like that and I switched to 30w in the winter
and took the battery out once per year and fully charged it (just before
winter).

The wiring on a scoot is sometimes a bit wimpy maybe try thicker battery
cables?

If you get a new battery try to get an AGM one with more CCA's than
the stocker. Bikes and scooters should have the same battery as your car
but in the interest of saving weight and space smaller ones are fitted.

True that.........My battery  just needed a good charge. Right now all my batterys are siting in the house nice and worm. And the scoot is waiting for nice rideing weather. Ill tune it up better when the weather is nice out . Maybe like 45 or higher outside. I should switch to a thiner oil in the winter If I wana ride it I guess.
