Good price for '09 50? Will it serve my purpose?
« on: February 05, 2013, 05:50:41 PM »
Hi all
Great forum! I live in Portland Oregon and own a small cafe here. We are looking for an easy way to do deliveries.
A couple of things:
1. No license needed for under 50 cc (I have a motorcycle endorsement but I wont be doing deliveries.)
2. Most of Portland, at least where we will be delivering is flat, with a few very slight inclines.
3. I'm from back east and i am used to crazy Manhattan traffic. Portland drivers are like little lambs when compared to NYC drivers.
4. I have a Kymco dealership 2 minutes from my house if i ever need them.

I have my eye on a used 2009 50 2T with top box. It has 1,100 miles and in great shape. The owner wants $1200 but I think will take $1000. Is this a fair price?

Most importantly, do you think it will be the right vehicle for doing short hops around the city, making deliveries with a 170# driver?

Definitely great for your purpose. Just make sure your drivers are trained on how to ride. You're really exposed on a scooter. If you can get it for a thousand or less you did great. 1100 miles is nothing. 1100 Km is even less. The odometer reads Km so it may be closer to 700 miles. That's hardly broken in. I'd say jump on it.
