Kymco/BMW Super 8 Police Special
« on: March 17, 2013, 07:54:07 PM »
Here are the final pictures of my scooter conversion.  I didn't really care for the original paint decals, so this is what I ended up with.  My pic files were too big for this, so they are photobucket linked.  Let me know what you think.

I'll be honest here....I don't dig putting on BMW decals on a Kymco myself. Look...you bought a "Kymco" Super 8 150cc & you should stand by it! On a sidenote...I like the White color scheme! Where do you live?

I live in Anacortes, Washington.  Some great riding here in the San Juans.  I knew I would get a certain amount of grief for my transgendered scoot.  The part that entertains me is watching peoples responses, and the confusion generated.  You can really tell how much people know about motorcycles in general by the way they look at it, and the questions generated.  I'll be honest here also.  I have not been that impressed with the Kymco build quality so far.  Upon tearing it down (if you look at my other posts), there were numerous stripped nuts and bolts.  Pretty disappointing removing pieces and knowing I would spend a evening tapping and dying threads.  I also found the gear oil filled above the fill bolt (how you do this, other than laying it on its side and filling gear oil), and it puked out my airbox.  Other than that, the engine has proven to be pretty smoothe and dependable so far.  The other color option I contemplated was painting the whole bike flat black, Mad Max style, but that would of required alot more work.  I do own a 2004 BMW R1150RT, so I'm not a complete wannabe.

I had a Yamaha Virago 250 once and removed all the Yamaha emblems and replaced them with
Harley Davidson ones! People would ask "What year is that Sportster?"

That's killer Vivo, many kudos on the Honda theft prevention schematic.
