Hi All,
Looking for used People 150. Kymco no longer distributes this model and I don't want to pay full price.
1. How reliable are these scooters?
2. Are parts widely available and reasonably priced?
3. Is the engine a GY-6 ?
4. Can the engine be rebuilt?
5. What are the pros and cons of this model?
6. Is the maintenance difficult?
7. What is the top comfortable crusing speed?
8. Average Mpg to be expected on a good running bike with 150 lb rider?
9. Any model year to look out for?
I live in South Florida by the way. Answers to these question would be greatly appreciated.

I have 2007 model and will try to answer some of your questions based on my experience.
1. Pretty reliable to me. This I think is greatly dependent on how you maintain. For most people, the dealers are not close to where they live, so the routine maintenances will have to be done in your garage. Keep the carb clean - for the carbureted models, change and maintain oil, etc. Keep the battery on the tender when not being ridden everyday. After 5+ years of ownership, no issues.
2. Compared to my BMW K bike, yes, the parts are cheap as hell.
3. I think so.
4. No idea. If it gets to that point, I'll just get a new one.
5. Pros: Cheap, inexpensive to own and operate, great gas mileage. Cons: Cheaply made, but that's why it's very affordable; wish it was faster; wish it had better wind protection; difficult to attach stuff like GPS or iPhone to the bike.
6. Easy to me for the stuff I do. Easy compared to modern cars or my BMW K bike. Somewhat subjective.
7. I weigh about 170lb, and I can do around 50 mph easy. Wish I could do at least 75 or higher for interstate option, but it is 150cc after all.
8. Varies. For the most part, 70 mpg for me.
9. No idea. I can only speak for my scoot.
