Battery Upgrade
« on: April 24, 2013, 06:02:27 AM »
The original battery of my Super 8 is 7mah... I found out that the 9mah fits in the compartment but just about half an inch higher... Bought and installed the 9mah and the performance is a lot better... cranking power has increased a lot...  I'm a very happy man!  ;D

Vivo: So you couldn't close your battery cover on the floor? Please advise us brother!

The battery cover closes easy with still some room to spare...
I don't know about the external dimensions of your battery brands there...but the one I had 7 mah has the same base dimensions as the available 9 mah... the 9mah only half an inch higher...

This is my new battery, as you can see on it's top part it says YTX9-BS ... it's compatible with the Yuasa YTX9-BS below... but I think the Yuasa is only 8 mah...

If you can see the difference in height of the MF7A-B and MF9-B below is very small...

Kept on wondering if the 9mah is really the required battery for my scoot and the dealer just changed it with a 7mah...

Guys, let's compare batteries... can you post the brand and model number of your batteries? I'm curious...

I've noticed lately that different manufacturers are playing with the specs. A YTX9-BS should be
9 AH but some are 8 and some are 10, it pays to read the specs for the exact one you are buying.

Well what I meant was they are not 9 like originally specified. 7.5, 8, 9 maybe not 10. Also
look at the CCA my lawn tractor's stock battery was 180 CCA and the replacement I got was 225...

Same bike behavior... just better cranking and more reserve battery power...
