warranty transfer
« on: April 13, 2013, 12:34:54 AM »
Hello. I am on the cusp of what I believe is a very good deal on a 2013 DT300i. It has 300 miles and I've seen all the paper work...the guy paid over 6 g's out the door but is letting it go for 4800. I've had a Helix since '87 and thought it was time to finally move up. Wanted a SilverWing but hard to find one with low mileage and priced right. My question...will the warranty transfer? Thanks.

I bet I've seen the photo of that one over on the west side of Ft. Worth.  Very nice white one.  Wish I had the money myself - but the warranty transfer was a question I had too.  I didn't need to ask anybody about it since I don't have the money to buy it anyway. :'(

That is correct. Picking it up tomorrow. And I wasnt even in the market for a Kymco since I know virtually nothing about them but after riding it, a Suzuki Burgman and a Yamaha Majesty the Kymco just felt better. And at that price I gotta say i believe it is a great deal. I should have inquired about warranty before making deal but since working on scooters is nothing new for me it shouldnt matter.

If you like to group ride, consider stopping by Moxie Scooters (www.moxiescooters.com) over in Colleyville if you haven't already.  It's a great scooter store and they host a local club.  The Blue Meanies Scooter Club meets there every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. (Daylight Saving time) and at 11 a.m. during normal Central Standard Time.

Most of the scooters seem to be less than 200 cc but there are Hondas, Aprilla, Genuine, Kymco, Sym, and others.   We take out staying on roads primarily under 40 mph visit a place to eat, maybe a historic site or special event (looking at going to a police motorcycle rodeo next week) in Grand Prairie I think.  Rides may be 2 hours or 4 or more.  Sometimes its just three or four going, sometimes 12-15.  All ages (seems to be 25 and up), and a motorcycle license is required.  Visit their site at:  http://www.bluemeaniessc.com

I'm envious of you getting a new scooter.  Ride safe.

Different manufacturers have different warranty stipulations.  You really need to read the warranty of the specific bike and know who and what is covered. Some warranties cover only original owners.  Some can be transferred...
