Is it normal to have continuity (ground) thru the starter body up to the relay?

If i touch the starter side of my relay solenoid and frame ground i get continuity.
Is this normal thru the starter body then windings then on to the cable that leads to the relay solenoid.

I know the starter body does have ground but was suprised to find ground thru to the wire up at the realy.

Yes. The starter motor appears to be a dead short to the multimeter since its internal resistance is very low when not rotating. They are generally series connected motors where the armature (rotating part) is connected in series to ground through the field coils. It is connected directly to ground with permanent magnet fields like I think we have on our scoots. There. You asked what time it was and I told ya how to build the clock!
