Super 8 4T 50cc Acceleration standard.
« on: June 01, 2013, 12:35:31 PM »
I'm going to install a Polini variator (POL-241.647) (bought at Euroscooters.nl for 54 Euros including 2 day delivery in NL with Paypal charge) so I wanted to see what the acceleration is on my scooter as standard. It stands just under 1200 Km and I have not even opened the drivetrain box yet. My dealer "derestricted" the drivetrain before delivery by replacing the boss drive face. I also think he installed 82 jet but I have not opened the carburettor yet to see what's installed. The CDI is still restricted. The max speed is indicated 51 Kmh which my TomTom (GPS) claims to be 45, exactly as it is supposed to be restricted to. Anyway, my acceleration on a flat road with almost no wind is:
0-10 = 2,7
11-20 = 2,1 (4,8)
21-30 = 2,7 (7,5)
31-40 = 3,7 (11,2)
41-50 = 6,3 (17,5)

I'll update when I've installed and tested the new variator.
My advices are Old Timer tricks that need operating braincells and general care when employed.

I have the same setup on my bike
installed polini vario with cdi restriction
and the acceleration was about 10% better
but everything changes when you cut/take off the wire from cdi box
Now with polini and cdi derestricted i have 40% better acceleration and
im happy its goes 65km/h and downhill 70km/h and gets stuck like before in 50km/h
so for better performance as you know you should change the main jet
rear driven pulley , exhaust etc :p
but that's not worth of it , as a 4t owner im dissapointed but with this setup its good as a 4t
