Oh good! I'll skip the battery removal next time. That will save the trouble of correcting the clock too. I'll cover mine with a rag or plastic wrap.

To answer the question of why one would remove the battery when doing a valve adjustment, I will refer to a friend of mine who has saved my life (several times)....A big hand for Mr Case, first name Justin.

The problem withe the flaming bike is now you'll have to go in to check the valves AGAIN after it has cooled down.  Hopefully you've melted away the seat and body panels to allow easy access...
