« on: June 20, 2013, 08:38:03 PM »
Does anyone know what to do when the bolt to change the oil has been striped? I have no idea what to do and its driving me crazy. Thanks for any ideas :)

A shop can fix that for you. They might drill it out to the next size and retap it. I'd go with a
fumoto valve so you don't need to remove it over and over (you'd need the size to buy the right one).

Is it the bolt head itself to loosen it or the threads on the engine where the bolt screws into the engine block?

If its the bolt head and you cant get it off then you can try hammer on a slightly smaller sized socket onto the nut head and if your lucky it will come off that way. I did that with mine when the head got worn and the spanner kept slipping then replaced it with a new drain bolt. Dont overtighten the new one.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

yeah its the head of the bolt.. I will try that and see if I can get it to turn.. For some reason it seemed like it was locked in place.
