Do you dry lube Dr Pulleys?
« on: July 07, 2013, 02:45:39 AM »
I imagine this topic has been kicked around  quite a bit - but could you folks give me the latest
thinking on installing a set of Dr. Pulleys.
I have a set of 13 gr and am asking if you do, or do not -  apply dry lubricant to the slots which they lay in?
Some folks say to use a dry lubricant, others say that these sliders are self-lubricating.
Dry lube, dab of grease, nothing. What?
The set came with a nice decal...maybe I'll just put that on the scoot....
Help.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I used a very little amount of a teflon lube that I have used for years.  On other scoots, i have always used dry lube.  My Honda Elite 150 had a significant amount of grease btw. Just some FYI.

But again, when I put the Dr. Pulley's on my Like about a month ago, I used a very small amount (a coating) on the sliders.  No issues to report. In fact I have put over 400 miles on the Like over the last several weeks and at 1400+ miles, this is by far one of the best riding/handling scoots I have ever ridden.  She'll cruise at 45-55 all day and gets there fast.  Somehow, I got her dialed in very nice.  (Now if I could just "dial in" me and shake off some pounds, but that's for another forum).

Hope you-Stig-  (and everyone) have been well.  Ride safe everyone and many thanks to everyone for keeping this forum the best one.

They slide much easier than the stock rollers so no lube is necessary.
My rollers make a lot of noise, rattling around in there but if I add a bit of
lube they quiet down. Some of the big scooters have had problems with the
sliders, maybe lube would have helped them?...
