Bongman, I am 51 years old, and I think I have the same riding style/habits as you. I live in Arizona so you live in the heat also. I am thinking of buying a new 09 or 2010 xciting 500. Could you email me your phone # as I would like to pick your brain a little? If not I understand. If not I will post some questions on this site, but some insider info would be nice. I am trying to make up my mind if this is the bike for me or not? Khartung@juno.com  Anyone else who wants to tell about their x 500's, please feel free to do so on this site. I sent some info via email. It's no secret I am prejudiced towards Kymco. I did make some mods and am making a couple more so the scoot suits me and my riding style. I'm of the opinion that any scoot or m.c. or car has to be modified some for that great fit.

I live in south Texas,rode to San Antonio and back last week,about 600 miles round trip,one up, 105 degrees first day, 95 going back. Now have 8300 miles on it and would buy another one. Does the speed limit and more. 46mpg round trip,25 to 30 mph wind comming back. I am 250 so a good load also.    Good Luck

I live in Brownsville, was in San Antonio last week. When ever I go to the hill country I will let you know. Hope to make a trip to Big Bend on the scoot in late Oct.

Man, that is a long stretch of highway from the valley to S. A.. I have made the trip with my wife in an RV, not on the scooter. Yet.

77 and 35 when I am in a hurry. The only bad thing this time was the heat. My son lives in SA, went to help him move. BOY was it hot........
