I tried to remove the tire tonight and am pretty upset w/myself, I put some bad scratches and took some paint off the lip of the rim, inner edge only,
I gotta get some rim protectors and the special tire irons with the bend in them,
Pics to follow afterwards, I wanted to throw up after I saw what I did thinking the rag between the metal and the paint would be sufficient.

Damn! Lots of soapy water and some cardboard Will usually do it. The bends do help.

Too late to help... but wouldn't a piece of a 2x4 lumber, placed in the the spoke of the wheel and a short screwdriver or Allen key placed in one of the holes inside of the the clutch bell hold everything in place? Wood would press up against cvt housing and the metal in the clutch would hold all the drive components still.
just an idea.

I took my tire off with some big clamps and layed a small piece of wood in between each one
it did all right just a few scratches a little flat black paint well touch it up good.
