Factory shock setting help.

I am wondering what the settings are on the front and rear shocks from the factory on the Like 200i? I would like to adjust them a bit to fit me a bit better if I could. I looked through the manual and didn't see what it is set at. Any info would be great.

I've never checked or adjusted mine. What I found when I got my Like was the tire pressure was way too high. I do 26 front, 30 rear. I'm 210 pounds. I haven't played with the settings on the shocks because after I had the tires properly inflated I found it to handle and ride well.

There is no adjustment for the front forks. The rear can be adjusted using a C spanner wrench or channel locks (Pliers). Be sure to adjust both rear shocks to the same setting.

Not sure if mine is the factory setting or dealer set. Mine is set at the 1 position which is the softest riding sitting. There are 5 settings in all. Each higher number makes the load (ride) stiffer.

Factory? Dunno, I bought mine used. I keep a pair of vice grips under the seat to adjust mine. I'm 6' 200lbs, this is how I set them:
1 (Softest) Solo riding, no luggage, cruising around town with no high-speed turns.
2 (Medium) Solo riding, carrying luggage or for more aggressive riding.
3 (Hardest) Riding 2 up

My LIKE 200i has 3 settings, not 5.
I have adjusted mine on the road by wrapping a rag around the notched ring and turning by hand.
It is easier if you're turning to lengthen the spring - requires a bit of muscle to turn so as to shorten the spring. When in my garage I use Channel locks and a rag to protect the chrome.
Read somewhere that you should not go from #1 setting to #3 setting (or vice versa) in one fell swoop. Stop at #2 for a bit for the shock to adjust.
(FYI- I am 250+ lbs and searching for a longer/beefier shock for my new LIKE 200i LX - the shock is to sag no more than 1/3rd of the total shock travel when rider sits on scooter - Mine sags about 2/3rds, with shock on stiffest setting. So, looking for better HD shock - and looking to get seat added to so I can sit for more than 40 mins.)

At the bottom of the rear shocks, just below the spring, there is a collar that can be rotated, it has 3 notches in it, each sit on a little nub. Spin that collar and to adjust your preset.

3 settings??? I thought I counted 5. It was dark when I checked and responded to this thread. Headed for the garage now to see what I have.

Just checked my rear shocks. I see 3 settings on one side of the collar and 2 more on the opposite side for a total of 5 settings.

   your not adjusting the shock action,. it is the spring you are compressing,. on my downtown there is 5 settings in a row,. each one shortens the spring about 4 mm.  if you are over 240 lb. I would go for three on the like 200,  the numbers on the other side is probably a repeat ,. to check take the shock off and compress the spring and rotate the bezil, I did that to my downtown today  # 5 shortens the spring about 1 inch,  on my downtown,.

I'll be darned, 5!
will study how to get around over there, and what settings those other 2 will give me. The shocks I've been thinking about buying have all 5 on the same side. (Progressive and EMGO shocks)

I'm no expert but it seems to  me one of the primary benefits of pre-loading  rear shocks would be limiting shock travel when braking, allowing the bike to remain more level.
  I'm only 200 pounds so virtually any setting on my xc is OK riding solo;  two-up is anther story and becomes unsafe unless adjusted to the highest setting.  From a handling standpoint, the bikes belonging to you larger guys would definitely benefit from a stiffer setting.
