When I ordered mine the price on their website was 41.15 euro and that's what I paid which was a heck of a deal. Now I see they are 72.02 euro. If you live outside of Europe I don't think you should have to pay the VAT. The only way to find out is probably email them but I did email them once on a different matter and got no reply, so good luck with that. If you don't have to pay the VAT on the 72.02 euro it would bring it more in line with what I paid for mine. I also ordered their filter cleaning kit which has the cleaner and oil. Got both orders with no problem at all and the free shipping was a bonus. These were shipped directly from their factory in Greece.

If you live in the USA and order from the EU you do not pay the VAT. Sometimes adding on the shipping cost makes it even though.

Who ever you talked to knows nothing about VAT. It is a tax just among EU countries.

From the EU website.

For the purpose of exports between the Community and non-member countries, no VAT is charged on the transaction and the VAT already paid on the inputs of the good for export is deducted - this is an exemption with the right to deduct the input VAT, sometimes called 'zero-rating'. There is thus no residual VAT contained in the export price.

You have to love how some people think they know everything and really don't.

I have bought a lot from stores in the EU and they have always deducted the VAT at checkout so I never had to get a rebate. But I suppose there will always be one that won't.

I installed the DNA filter today , did about 60 miles and the scooter sounds smoother,. Im hard of hearing so I cant be sure if my impressions are right,.  going for a ride to the seaway tomorrow about 200 miles round trip,  and checking out my revamped seat, again,.

I had the same when I purchased mine last year. They said unless they were sure to sell 10 they would not bring them in. Got mine in England. Guess they have no problem selling 10 or more there. :)
