Installing new exhaust
« on: February 18, 2010, 02:13:51 PM »
Has anyone installed an exhaust pipe on their People? Is access to the bolts attaching to the engine easy to get to or, do I have to remove any body panels?

There may be a service manual here. If not surf canyon as a search engine can get you to one.http://www.timtaylor.net/Scooter/Manuals.htm

I intalled a new exhaust on my P150 last year.  If you go to the thread titled "Jet size" there are a couple of pictures there.  The exhaust bolts do not require you to take off any body panels, but you will have to lay on the ground a bit.  They are a standard size (10mm I think) but are pretty long.  One tip, there is a metal gasket that is part of the system, make sure you get that and if it is not damaged, you can use it for the new exhaust.

Thanks. All I had to do was remove the small panel down by your feet. Gave me a view so I can see the two exhaust bolts. Entire job took 10 minutes.

Did you find an aftermarket exhaust? Kymco is too expensive.
