Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2009 (VIDEO)
« on: August 06, 2009, 10:16:41 PM »
As some of you may now know Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler suffered head, neck and shoulder injuries last night when he fell off stage at the Buffalo Chip Campground during the Motorcycle Rally here in Sturgis, South Dakota.  I was there yesterday afternoon to shoot the Rally before the concert that night.  We all hope Steven is doing well and makes a speedy recovery.

Well, this is what I got and this one’s for you, Steven.

Keep the rubber side down.

Great video!

Ya know it's weird but I have a Road King (and secretly lust after the new Indian) but I've never had a desire to go to Sturgis. Am I really missing anything?

I'll do my best there scooterman.  Thanks.

“Am I really missing anything?”  Well, Norcal1 that depends…  If you’ve never been to a Rally, Sturgis would be a good start.   Nothing like it, really.  Sure it’s got all the stuff you’d expect at a Rally of this size… Big name bands at the Buffalo Chip, lots and lots of hogs, parties, a huge selection of gear and part swaps, bla bla bla.  But I’m thinking it’s the ride, the great wide open country riding out in the Black Hills and Badlands that’s got a lot of riders coming back for more year after year.  So, yeah the Rally is way cool but it’s the riding out here that’s the real reason to check it out.

Don't know if you noticed but there was an Indian Classic at the "Free Bike Wash" in the video.  A guy by the name of Chad was the proud owner.  Wouldn't mine have that one myself.
