Anybody know which model is the same as Yager in Vietnam?
« on: December 03, 2013, 12:47:12 AM »
I'm on vacation with the family in sunny Vietnam and thought I might be able to purchase the
side body kit shown on Kymco's global site;

http://www.kymcorider.com/home/detail.asp?menuid=2&id=1709

They work on the 50 125 and 200cc Yagers but here they don't show a Yager. Maybe
they renamed it for this market? So does anyone know which model might be a Yager?

I doubt that people there would buy a Yager being it bigger than most scoots... one will just get stuck in traffic with a Yager in Vietnam...

I was referring to the physical size of the Yager/Dink... The wide body is just not suitable in the very busy streets of Vietnam... can't easily squeez that thru traffic... the best would be the Honda Cub/Wave just like in our country... remember, Vietnam has almost 40 million registered motorcycles.. that's a lot!

Well the first place said they'd call back and never did so we went to
a big dealer and showed them the part on the global website. They
said they'd call back and did!

But they said they can't order global parts but this other dealer can.
So today we will try them and see what happens...

I'd have ordered it in the US and waited if it was available, not sure why it
isn't....

Oh well it's a no go. They said that's for an old model and they can only get parts for new models....

It is a wide scooter, it is uncomfortable to ride on the back because of the width.

90 % of bikes here are Honda. There are a lot of Kymco dealers but I do not see many bikes around.
I had imagined there would be sup up shops with lots of goodies for most bikes but not so much here.
Maybe in Ho Chi Minh City there are more?

In Vietnam, they treat their bikes as basic transpo so no need to add goodies to the bikes... However, in Thailand like here in the Philippines, it's a different story... there's no limit in accessorizing the bikes from aesthetics to engine mods...
