Multifunction meter (Dashboard)
« on: January 27, 2014, 01:54:57 PM »
The indicator needles of the multifunction meter are supposed to sweep from zero to their maximum reading then back to zero when the ignition switch is turned on (pg 18 owners manual) but my 500 doesn't do so????? The bike runs perfect and everything works but what is going on? I've looked in the owners manual and can't find a word about how to fix the problem, if indeed it is a problem! Help please:)

First gen Xcitings here didn't do the sweep, and their manuals are notorious for mistakes
and copy/pasting from other bikes.

I've been translating them from English to Croatian for the past 2 years, so, don't ask me
how I know.

I'd ignore it.

I have a 2012RI with ABS.  I went to my dealer for the very same reason.  I had owned several scoots in the past, and not just Kymcos.  In all cases the needles swept.

I was told by my dealer not to worry about it.

That was some 16000 miles ago.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it.

I'm going to put a charging pig tail on the battery soon and supposedly if you disconnect the negative cable and turn the switch to the start position and then touch the negative cable to the negative terminal it resets everything.
