Accidents on LIKE's
« on: November 04, 2013, 10:30:24 PM »
I wonder if a small-body  scoot , like the Vino 125, or Metropolitans, would be safer to ride for some....then I read the "crash" thread on the modernbuddie site. Geez, they're crashing those little Buddies like the B. & B. Circus!

Still, I'm no little guy, and I find the LIKE to be heavy and awkward in some situations. For the price, I guess we cannot expect much more than these heavy, unsophisticated pipe frames.

I've seen some small scoots (Italian and French) that have what look like bird-cage, alloy space frames of very sophisticated design which must be a good deal lighter in weight.

I also read that mass = stability on 2 wheels.
Perhaps.
Just noodling while I wait for the coffee to brew.........

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

That's an odd looking scoot. I kinda like it though. Not sure about the louvers in the front. : /

Kymco does not skimp on the steel.  I'm considering adding helium to my front tire to lighten up the countersteering.

And you havee got to stop looking at other scoots, dude.  Give you beast some purple flames or something.  Then dump in a capful of Seafoam and giver hell.

Normal is boring.

When I bought my Like 200i in March, there was another Like 200i there in the dealer's shop that had been rear ended while strapped down on a trailer.  They told me the frame was slightly bent and a majority of the body work in the rear of the scooter was damaged, but otherwise it just looked like a ridden hard and put away wet scooter.  It seriously looked like you could hop on it and ride it away.  Not bad for being rear ended while strapped down!!!
