changing the headlight

Hey guys. Wondering if anyone has changed out the headlight on an xciting 500. I wanna put a blue ish xenon bulb in there. Wondering what is the best approach to change it out. Thoughts?

Unless you have really small arms, I don't believe you can just reach up into the Cowl and do this change-over.  I recommend
pulling off the cowl.  Like 6 or 8 screws around the edge (dash side)  and one right above the headlight in the small vent area.  Here's what I'd  encourage....Look up a Parts Schematic on a Kymco Parts Vendor (i.e.  Stadium Yamaha).  You'll easily see how things are put together.  Caution...Numerous removals usually causes the plastic to strip out on the plastic holes on the cowl.  I've filled mine in,  re-drilled and tapped more than once.  The first time to reinstall the cowl can be quite difficult.  If you do change this bulb,  think strongly about doing any other add-ons like dash mounted 12 VDC receptacle,  any extra switches, lights, air horn, etc.  Removing a panel of some type is required to do most maintenance procedures.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was affraid of that. But 8 screws arent bad. Thanks for telling which ones. This is the only mod I can see myself doing other than the turn signal bulbs which I can get with my fingers. What is the bulb wattage. I think 55/60 right. I will look up the parts vendor also. And I will be gentle lol. Does the bulb like twist and pop out like most car headlight housings or I guess I will see when I pull off the front

No...I think the headlight bulb has a formed spring wire that fits in notches around the bulb mounting plate.  If I remember, that type of bulb slides in and out of the mount.   Don't think it would be easy to install blind.

Changes out and went smooth. Took about 10 - 20 minutes once you told me which screws they were, was cake from there. Made sure to hand tighten them snug but not over tighten. I got the blueish bulb for xmas so I was ready lol. Went smooth knock on wood.  Ready to ride

yeah not bad at all. i took your advise and was sure to carefully hand tighten all the screws and not torque them down. dont want to degrade the plastic. i love the blue. its more of a hyperwhite blueish. its a 4k color temp so more pure white but i much prefer that over the standard yellowish factory bulbs. gives it a sharper look
