1st purchase check list

I cant be 100% sure where to put this so I guess its a general subject. I am going in 2 or 3 days to look at a 05 super 9 50cc lc 2 stroke and this may be my first purchase. I am wondering what things should I look for (in general so I know what to look for on other scooters also) and how many miles is to many? I don't want to have to pay to have someone rebuild the engine right after buying it. All I know right know is it supposedly been well kept up, has only a boss drive swap, and they want $800. Thanks

Have access to a compression tester.  Also, before starting the engine, make sure that the engine is cold not warm... Warm engines always start right up even if there are problems... some will warm up the engine before a sale...    A cold engine that starts quick is a good sign....
